I’m done.

When I set out from Hartford months ago, I didn’t know exactly what I was chasing—only that I wanted to ride, to connect, and to see what 3,000 miles on a bike would reveal. Now, finishing my ride in San Diego, I see it more clearly: this journey was never just about the miles.

It was about the patience learned in Kansas winds (again!) and Pennsylvania rain. It was about the long stretches of solitude that made the moments of connection shine even brighter. It was about friendships rekindled after decades, and the generosity of strangers who quickly became part of my story. It was about choosing presence—day after day, mile after mile.

Pedal to the Pitch gave me the gift of remembering what I value most: people, purpose, and the freedom of carving out a life I love. The bike was just the vehicle. The real journey was everything it carried me to—community, joy, resilience, and a reminder that I am open, free, and alive.

And while the ride ends here, the spirit of it—what I’ve learned, what I’ve lived—will keep rolling on.

Thanks for following along.

XOXO,
Jess
